Animefest 2019 was 16th year and was held in bigger venue (Congress centre, halls Rotunda, A1 and A2) at the Brno Exhibition Ground. We have expanded Cosplay village, workshop zone, martial arts arena. Newly created Digital Art zone combined drawing with tablets and photography. Animefest is supporting (mainly) Czech and Slovak indie artists in the Artist Alley zone. Board games also got extended space, presenting both modern and traditional games. As usual, Lancraft gaming zone provided computer games and VR experience.
As each year, several contests were held - international AMV contest, two cosplay contests, and FestDance contest. For the second time, cosplay contest was qualifier for the European Cosplay Gathering (solo representant is Ghai, and in group category Arisu & Ayaku) and again for the international C4: Clara Cow's Cosplay Cup - Czechia was represented by team Kuromaru & Joan.
Animefest 2019 was organized under the auspices of the Embassy of Japan in Czech Republic, and with the financial support of the city of Brno. Our main technology partner is Comfor. We also want to thank our partners who supported us.
